At Liberty Christian Church one of our commitments is to empower families.
Playgroup - The Lansford Community Playgroup has been in operation for many years. It is a place for parents or caregivers of our community to enjoy being together with their young child/children. It provides a venue for parents and children to network and develop new friendships and it allows parents to discover social support systems. Each week parents and caregivers bring their children for a 3 hour session of structured activity and free play. We are well resourced for equipment and children can enjoy a wide variety of play opportunities. We have regular trips and outings and also enjoy mum's night out occasions.Our Playgroup is a certified playgroup under the Ministry of Education and can access the support and advice that brings. 0-5 year olds and their caregivers. Friday 9am-12noon. Cost: $3 per family.
Mainly Music - Started in 2001 Mainly Music is a weekly fun, interactive music session for families with preschool children. Children are introduced to music, rhyme, movement and creativity. Mainly Music provides children with a structured learning environment and then a time of free play. Great parenting support takes place over coffee at the end of each session and many friendships are formed at this time. We enjoy regular theme days and celebrate special milestones in each child's life. 0-5 year olds and their caregivers. Wednesday 9.45am-11.45am. Cost $3 per family.
SPACE Programme - Supporting Parents alongside Children's Education is a programme developed mainly for first time parents with newborn babies. Weekly sessions include the opportunity to meet and get to know other new parents, discussions on relevant child development and parenting topics, play sessions and introduction to rhymes, music and books for infants. The group meets for a year and gradually develops into a Playgroup moving through to other forms of early childhood education, including our own centre, Liberty Kids Christian Preschool. Commencing 2012 - Newborns on referral from Plunket .Cost $3 per family.
Parenting Courses - Every now and again we could all do with a little advice on how to cope with the next stage in the whirlwind ride called parenting. Liberty Christian Church is looking to develop courses and events designed to release you into your role as a teacher, mentor and encourager of the next generation.
