Trent's weekly muse - 26th January - God is relentless in His goodness

Thought for the week:

God is Relentless in His Goodness

The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.
I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”

Lamentations 3:22-24

His Love never fails, His mercies never cease. Everything about God is forever. He never changes. It is not like we wake up in the morning and think “I wonder what God will be like today. I hope he is got a good night’s sleep and he won’t be grumpy and annoyed at me.” No! We don’t have to fear erratic behaviour. He never changes. His joy is eternal and His loving-kindness from everlasting to everlasting.

He is totally and utterly relentless in His grace for us. His love is so persistent.

As I look back over the years I have become so aware of the of unfailing kindness that He has shown me. I feel safe in His heart. I am breathless and overwhelmed by a goodness that never quits. See I never have to fear or worry about my relationship with Him. I always know where I am in His love because He never changes.

It Has taken me quite a journey, but I am finally getting it – I am grasping this truth. He will always be the same towards me - yesterday, today and forever. When we start to grasp this then we begin to understand what real freedom in Christ is truly like

See I am now beginning to understand that I am relentlessly loved regardless of my performance as a Christian.

When I grasped that I cried, out of a deep sense of relief.

Then I laughed and gave thanks and I've been rejoicing ever since

Let me give you a warning – Get ready!!!

This year is going to be a year of favour.  Psalm 65:11 says “You crown the year with Your goodness, and the paths drip with abundance.” I know that 2012 is going to be a year of outrageous blessing as He overwhelms us with revelation of His goodness and grace
